Booking / Cancellation / Reschedule policies

SESSION FEE (NON-REFUNDABLE FEE) -

If you've paid a session fee to secure your booking, it is non-refundable and is used to secure your session date - This is for both commercial and family sessions.

Client shall reserve the time and date of services by paying a non-refundable session fee at the time of booking a date on the calendar. No date is completely reserved to you until the session fee is received.

GIFT VOUCHER | DISCOUNT CODES -

If you've booked in with a gift voucher or a discount code, you are committed to your booking and different policies apply (see below)

Client shall reserve the time and date of services by entering a discount code in the online calendar. Date is reserved with the use of the code. At the time of booking, client agrees via a tick box, that a strict cancellation policy applies to discount code bookings (See cancellation policy). This goes for both commercial and family sessions.


CANCELLATION POLICY -

When a session fee is paid : In the event of a total cancellation or non-attendance after paying the session fee, the photographer will keep these monies paid as they are non-refundable. These funds are however, transferable and we can reschedule the session (See reschedule policy)

When a gift voucher or discount code is used : In the event of a cancellation or non-attendance, client will incur a non-negotiable $35 administration fee. This is a condition of booking in with a voucher on the online calendar. This booking is however, transferable as per the reschedule policy below.

RESCHEDULING POLICY -

When a session fee is paid OR When a gift voucher or discount code is used : If client needs to reschedule to a different date, the booking can be transferrable as long as the reschedule request is made at least 7 days before the original booking date.

In the event the client does not provide 7 days notice, client will need to pay a $35 administration fee to change their booking. Failure to pay the $35 administration fee will result in the cancellation policy being applied for their booking.

COPYRIGHT :

Client waves any claims for copyright ownership, income and editorial control of the images. When given high resolution files, client reproduce the images provided for their personal use only and does not allow the images to be altered, sold or published without permission from the photographer.

ARCHIVING CLIENT IMAGES:

Digital Images -

Upon receipt of the digital images, Client accepts all responsibility for archiving and protecting the photographs. Client has 4 weeks from delivery of images to download their own images. After this, photographer does not always permanently archive image files. Photographer is not responsible for the lifespan of any digital media provided or for any future changes in digital technology or media readers that might result in an inability to read discs or any form of media provided. It is the client's responsibility to make sure that digital files are copied to new media as required. The photographer is however, able to be contacted in case loss of images occurs, but there will be no guarantee for the full recovery of your images from the photographer.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY:

The photographer is the owner of the intellectual property created by the photographer in the course of the services, including but not limited to the photographs, digital or electronic material, transparencies, negatives and prints relating to the photographs.

PHOTO SELECTIONS

Photo selection - Images determined by the photographer to be substandard or duplicated may be edited out of the final gallery that the client receives. The Photographer will use her professional judgment and sole discretion to select which photos to deliver. Such selection shall constitute all images that will be made available to Client. Client will not be allowed to see or receive any unedited (RAW) images. Images which are not included in the final gallery are discarded during the selection process prior to editing.

PRINTING & EDITING IMAGES:

Image Processing/Printing -

High-resolution images will contain a mixture of colour or black and white. This is at the photographers discretion as some images will present better in one format over the other. Colour correction and retouching are included at Photographer's discretion in line with her artistic style as displayed in her portfolio. Client may request further changes to editing and retouching for an additional hourly rate. Photographer is not responsible for any prints that are not ordered directly from the studio. For best results, if you wish not to order prints through Fable and Fig, clients with the high-resolution files should order their prints through a reputable lab.

Weather Policy

Due to the nature of some of our sessions being outdoors, we are very cautious of the weather and have some strict guidelines on what dictates whether a session goes ahead or not. Sometimes it may seem that we reschedule a bit too easily however, this policy is based on years of experience as outdoor photographers and we always err on the side of caution when it comes to our staff and clients. In the event of bad weather for your session - We will contact you to reschedule via a text message and our decision is final.

This is in place to protect our gear, our photographers and to make sure that our clients are getting THE best possible experience and photographs from us at their sessions! We would hate to bring you out in bad weather and have it result in a poor experience with us.

Please see below general policy. The call is made by the staff member working on that day and is at their discretion.

Our general weather policy is below :

Bushfire rating of extreme or above = Reschedule

Winds over 25km/hr = Reschedule

Thunderstorms = Reschedule

Temperature below 15 degrees = Reschedule

Temperature above 38 degrees = Reschedule

Showers / Rain (Moderate to High) = Reschedule

Low to Moderate chance of rain | Cold/Hot Weather with Children/Elderly | Humid | Borderline weather rules = Fable and Fig to make a call

Operating and Office Hours

We are a small team with adhock hours and we will be in contact as soon as we can! The work phone number is NOT always manned by a staff member.

Emails are sporadically checked but unless urgent won’t be responded to until back in the office.

If you have a session on between these hours you can go to your original booking email to find the emergency phone number where you can contact Jade in the event of needing an urgent response. Her number is in your welcome email)
